History of Terex Cranes

The Terex brand, a leader among manufacturers of equipment for the mining and manufacturing industries, was founded in the early twentieth century as a division of General Motors. The first dump trucks rolled off the assembly line in 1925.

In 1957, a separate truck assembly plant was created in Hudson. At that time, the company had a different name. The equipment was manufactured under the Euclid brand, which belonged to GMC. But due to the twists and turns associated with the peremptory decision of the antitrust commission of the US Department of Justice, the Euclid company, located in the United States, had to be given to the White corporation. The reason for this was the unprecedented success of the leading designers - the Armington brothers. This, at first glance, fatal event made some adjustments that favorably influenced the further development of the company.

Funds were invested in production, due to which the model range was expanded. The change of name and owner did not negatively affect production, on the contrary, things went uphill, and the manufacturer became a monopolist. As a result, the state imposed a moratorium on production for a period of four years, and part of the production facilities and the brand itself had to be sold.

Only in 1968, a new company, invented by the General Motors concern, was introduced to the world. Terex engineers immediately promoted the new brand among competitors. For example, the 1Z Trac-Truk off-road tractor became a bestseller, which left its colleagues far behind. Also, the "king of the earth" launched production of the largest dump truck at that time, the Terex 33-19 "Titan". The machine was designed to transport 370 tons of cargo. Under the auspices of GMC, the Terex manufacturer existed until 1980.

By 2000, the Terex brand bought out most of the manufacturers of similar equipment in NATO countries. In 1990, the coalition included such famous companies as: PPM, American Crane, Peiner, Gru Comedil S.r.l., Franna, Princeton and Kooi. In the 21st century, the company entered the top three leading manufacturers of tower cranes in the world. Terex brand is a global monopolist. The manufacturer creates all kinds of industrial machines used in both the civil and military industries. Over the years of successful existence on the market, the brand has absorbed a number of companies, further expanding its influence. The founders of the company even made it possible to purchase equipment at factory prices.
