New range of cranes from Linden Comansa
Linden Comansa (Spain) will present a new series of tower cranes with a lifting boom at the Bauma exhibition
The main exhibit of the company at this exhibition will be a crane with the index LCL 190. The main difference of the cranes from this model range is their modular design, which was created based on the needs of rental companies. The tower sections are interchangeable both between cranes of their series and with topless cranes of other series of the company. In addition, for all models of this series, most boom sections are also interchangeable.
Several options of the lifting boom are available for the new cranes: with a lifting capacity of 18 or 12 tons. When building up the tower from a 6-meter-high cruciform base with S25 modules, the maximum lifting height of the load will be 49.5 meters. Thanks to the ability to extend the boom with five-meter sections, the length of the LCL 190 crane can vary within 30-60 meters.
Usually, the crane's lifting winches are located on the counterweight boom, but in the new cranes they will be located in front of the cabin. This allows for a shorter counterweight reach, smaller machine dimensions and easier crane installation. The installation of cargo cables has also been simplified, and are now stored at the manufacturing plant. This, in turn, reduces the time required to install the product on the construction site.
Elliott Introduces New Truck Crane
At the upcoming ConExpo 2014 exhibition, Elliott Equipment will show its new truck crane with a lifting capacity of 40.8 tons. The machine, which received the serial number 45142, has a five-section telescopic boom with a maximum length of 43 m. The weight and dimensions of the new product allow it to travel on public roads without a special permit.
The Elliott 45142 crane is mounted on a five-axle chassis. Its operating weight is 29.85 tons, including the two-section telescopic boom with a length of 9.7-16.7 m and a removable cradle for two people, which come in the basic configuration. According to the manufacturer, the configuration of the truck crane allows it to be successfully used in a variety of areas of municipal and urban services, including servicing power lines and oil and gas pipelines. With a powerful load diagram for its class, the crane can also be used as a lift, for which it is equipped with a proprietary two-person working platform with a hydraulic grip and a special jib, bringing the lifting height to 65 m. The presence of a quick-grip device with a hydraulic lift for attaching to a boom or jib not only reduces the time of platform installation, but also reduces the risk of injury to personnel. A remote control with an integrated display is provided for work at height. Among other features of the Elliott 45142 model, the proprietary steel crane cabin with a flat windshield, which can be easily replaced if damaged, a 360-degree working area without the need to install front outriggers and a new counterweight design, which reduces the overhang of the tower when turning. The company also offers a wide range of special options and devices to meet individual customer requirements.
Manitex presented the TC700 truck crane
The official presentation of the new Manitex TC700 truck crane with a lifting capacity of 70 tons took place last week in Georgetown, Texas, as part of the 25th anniversary meeting of dealers of the American company.
Like the first two prototypes, the crane was designed and assembled in Italy for the purpose of further sales of machines on the global market, the KHL Group resource reports.
Thus, the lower frame of the crane unit is suitable for installation on the chassis of trucks of various widths. At the same time, in the standard configuration, the crane enters the market on an 8x4 chassis.
In general, the TC700 truck crane is designed for use in commercial transportation. The lifting capacity of the machine with a working radius of 2.4 meters is 70 tons. At the same time, the length of the main boom is 38.1 meters, and the length of the boom with a two-section jib is 54.9 meters. The crane certification complies with CE and ASME B30.5 standards. The key factors in the development of the new crane, as noted by Manitex specialists, were the operator's comfort and ease of transportation of the machine.
As for improving the operator's working conditions, the TC700 cabin has increased legroom, an expanded interior, and seat heating has been introduced. In addition, the TC700 cabin has a 20-degree tilt to improve visibility of the load and the work platform. Displays are also installed inside the cabin, which show the operating parameters of both engines and the crane unit.
At the same time, the crane itself is compatible with various chassis rails and widths, which makes it easy to transport.
The first deliveries of the TC700 will begin in the second half of 2013, the company notes.
Manitowoc Launches Largest Potain MCT 1005 Topless Tower Crane in China
Manitowoc has announced the launch of the Potain MCT 1005 M50, the largest topless tower crane to be manufactured at its Zhangjiagang facility in China. Designed for use in emerging markets and Southeast Asia and boasting a massive 50 tonne capacity, the crane is available with a choice of three counter-jib options, further enhancing its seamless adoption on tight jobsites.
The MCT 1005 M50 can handle an impressive 8 tonnes at the end of an 80 m boom, which is made up of 11 sections of either 5 m or 10 m. Its shortest configuration of 20 m requires just three sections, on which it can lift the full 50 tonnes. The same maximum lifting capacity is also available in a range of 3.5 - 16.8 m with a boom length of 80 m or 3.5 - 25.2 m with a boom length of 30 m. Many customers will also appreciate the option of configuring the crane with a 45 m boom, which provides a maximum lifting capacity of 24.8 t at the boom tip.
For these heavy loads, counter-jib options are available of 15 m for boom configurations up to 45 m; 17.5 m for boom configurations up to 55 m; and 20 m when working with booms between 60 and 80 m. This versatility increases the crane’s ability to work in close proximity to other cranes or nearby structures. There is over 1,070 m of rope on the drum and the crane’s payload is efficiently transported horizontally by the smooth and precise Potain 25 DVFC 25 frequency drives. Slewing speed is adjustable from 0 to 0.7 rpm via the RVF 174 Optima+ system.
The K850 mast with 2.45 m x 2.45 m sections provides up to 69.7 m of independent height under hook. Up top is the V140S Vision cab, where the operator will find a comfortable work station with clear visibility, aided by tinted glass, windscreen wipers and a sun visor. Heating is standard and air conditioning is available as an option for added comfort. The entire top slewing section can be transported to site in just 11 trucks, making it surprisingly easy to transport for such a large crane.
“As the popularity of flattop tower cranes continues to grow, we’re quickly responding to our customers’ requests in the Asia Pacific region for heavier-duty models,” said Leong Kwong-Jun, regional product manager for tower cranes at Manitowoc. “Flattop tower cranes are ideal for large infrastructure projects or modular developments, as well as a variety of other applications – and with the Potain MCT 1005 M50, we’ve created a model with a wide range of boom lengths and capacities that can handle virtually any task that’s asked of it.” The MCT 1005 M50 comes to market just over six months after the launch of the Potain MCT 805, which was previously Zhangjiagang’s largest Potain crane when it launched in April 2022.
What new products will be presented in 2021?
In the near future, Tadano will launch production of new cranes: GR-1000EX-4, GR-900EX-4 and GR-700EX-4. These are completely modernized versions of rough terrain models with a lifting capacity of 60-80 tons, which have been produced since 2011. It should be noted that the machines have become more productive, the working area has been increased, and the operator's safety and comfort have been improved.
GR-1000EX-4: a crane with a lifting capacity of 100 tons with the longest telescopic boom in its class - 51 m
GR-900EX-4: a model with a lifting capacity of 90 tons
GR-700EX-4: a crane with a 47-meter boom, the longest in its class
The cabin design and crane fittings have been seriously improved, which significantly increases labor efficiency. The machines are equipped with new large multifunctional 10.4-inch color touchscreen displays. For the first time on Tadano equipment, the cabin tilt function (20 degrees) is used, which reduces operator fatigue.
The new models are equipped with the Eco-Mode and Positive Control fuel monitoring systems, which help reduce emissions of harmful substances, optimize fuel consumption, and reduce noise. Fuel savings are also achieved on cranes due to the hydraulic pump shutdown function, which automatically stops the crane if it is not used for a certain period. The Smart Counterweight system (currently available on the GR-1000EX-4 model) improves the stability of the installation by 22%.
