Manitowoc Cranes is a division of the transnational Manitowoc Company Inc. Headquartered in Manitowoc, Wisconsin, the company also has five regional headquarters and 14 manufacturing sites in eight countries.

The company specializes in manufacturing cranes with lifting capacities from 45 to 2,300 tons (four brands). The division also provides two branded services (Manitowoc Crane Care and Manitowoc Finance) and publishes Looking Up magazine. It is one of the world's leading manufacturers of overhead cranes. The Manitex 50155GT crane with a telescopic boom is mounted on a high-cross-country chassis with wide rubber tracks. The company representatives stated that the new Manitex crane is the heaviest lifting crane in the world that uses rubber tracks.

The first example has already found a buyer. The crane is currently being manufactured and will be delivered to the customer in September.

The developers note that the presence of a two-seater working platform that rises to 60 m makes the crane an excellent lift for servicing and constructing power transmission lines.

Despite the presence of tracks, the Manitex 50155GT uses outriggers when performing lifting operations. The outriggers extend to a length of up to 7.1 m. The lifting capacity with the outriggers extended to their maximum length is 50 tons with a minimum boom length of 1.7 m and an outreach of 1.8 m.

The boom assembly includes a movable extension section 11.9 m long for attaching the working platform. Thanks to this section, the working height of the crane is 60 m. The working platform can rotate 360 degrees under any load.

The machine is equipped with a Caterpillar C-9 diesel engine with a power of 375 hp. The engine fully complies with Tier 3 environmental standards. The width of the tracks is 1.08 m. When moving, the specific pressure of the tracks on the ground is approximately 0.3 kg / cm2.

With the counterweight installed, the transport weight of the machine is 35.4 tons. The crane can be transported without paperwork for the transportation of large-sized cargo on a standard trailer.
