History of Kato Crane

This manual gives a basic summary of Kato hydraulic crane and explains the equipment making up the machine, and the structure, functions, disassembly, and assembly, adjustment, maintenance, etc. (see below the list of the sections for this equipment).

Everyone knows about this company, even those who are far from construction and ordering special equipment for work. We identify Kato cranes with some of the most powerful and reliable.

The company was formed from a small private workshop "Kato Iron Works", the founder of which was the Japanese Kimiyasu Kato. The enterprise was created by order of the Ministry of Railway Transport of Japan in 1895. The company was initially engaged in the manufacture of locomotives and self-propelled cars with an engine.

In 1935, it was decided to reorganize the company and change the name to "Kato Works Ltd." Three years later, in 1938, the company launched the production of tower cranes, tractors and road equipment. By 1960, drilling rigs and cranes on automobile chassis of various lifting capacities of the hydraulic system were additionally added to the model range.

Kato products turned out to be in demand, quality was strictly monitored, this allowed them to conquer the market with their reliability and durability. In 1963, mass production of equipment for municipal and road services began, and in 1967, hydraulic excavators were developed and launched into production.

Further development

In the 1970s, Kato engineers developed a high-altitude truck crane that had no equal in the world. In the same year, the company's shares entered the stock exchange and equipment supplies to the Soviet Union began. The USSR was mainly in demand for truck cranes with a lifting capacity of 20 to 120 tons, which were not produced in our country at that time.

The company managed to establish exports to 60 countries around the world. Annual profits reach 500 million dollars. Kato does not stop developing, new technologies and equipment are introduced at the plants, which allows us to guarantee the quality of the manufactured products.

The main production facilities are located in Tokyo, where most of the company's personnel work. Two more large offices are located in the cities of Gunma and Ibaraki. The company's president, Kimiatsu Kato, works according to the motto: "New life for Kato technology", which implies development in the field of computer technology and the creation of a fundamentally new range of intelligent technology that will embody the wishes of customers.
